What you need

cup powdered sugar

cup unsalted butter

tsp vanilla extract

tsp food coloring gel

tsp baking soda

cup brown sugar

oz cream cheese

cup cocoa powder

cup granulated sugar

cup cake flour

tsp baking powder

tsp table salt
egg
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake flour, all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Add your eggs, vanilla and food coloring, and beat lightly until the red is evenly distributed. Add in the dry mixture and mix with a spatula until just combined. Chill dough for at least 1 hour. I like to pre-scoop the dough into balls before chilling so it’s easier! Preheat the oven to 350 F, and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Place 6-8 cookies on each tray, and bake for 10-12 minutes or until slightly undercooked in the center. They will continue to cook on the tray out of the oven so don’t worry! Let cookies completely cool before adding frosting. To make the frosting, beat the unsalted butter and cream cheese until light and creamy in a medium bowl. Add vanilla extract and powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Spread or pipe frosting onto cooled cookies. Enjoy!View original recipe
